New Local Cafe an Inspiring Attraction

Autumn is the best time of the year, and heading down to the restaurant Maman is a great way to take advantage of the season. This new, unique cafe is a great local location in Suburban Square.

We arrived at the restaurant for brunch around a quarter past eleven and were seated quickly. Hanging from the ceiling were faux foliage and white flowers illuminated by bright, congenial lights, all of which gave the space a fresh feeling. The restaurant matched impeccably with the calm and rainy autumnal weather just outside.

One of us ordered the Maman Signature Pumpkin Pie Latte, and the other ordered the classic hot chocolate. The drinks came in around five minutes. Something that contributed to the atmosphere in the restaurant was their unique blue china. The mugs for our drinks had detailed designs and made the drinks even more picturesque.

The hot chocolate was balanced but leaned more towards bitter than sweet. The whipped cream was fluffy, and the cinnamon topping made for another interesting flavor in the mix. The pumpkin pie latte, a warm, fall drink with latte art and pumpkin spice, was part of Maman’s seasonal menu. It was overall a delicious coffee; the pumpkin flavor came through in the foam of the latte but did not overpower the entire drink.

Next, we ordered an Apple Cinnamon Swiss Croissant and a classic chocolate chip cookie, both to share. The croissant was soft and buttery but not particularly flaky, and the apple filling carried much of the sweetness of the treat. It had unique decorative stripes that added to the elegance of the pastry. The cookie was stupendously crispy and extra sweet due to the finishing sugar on top. It was heavy on chocolate chips and perfect for chocolate lovers.

As our main dishes, we ordered tomato soup with grilled cheese and a Belgian waffle, both to share. The tomato soup was outstanding, boldly flavorful, and satisfyingly smooth. The grilled cheese alongside it was made with golden whole-grain sourdough. The waffles sacrificed crispiness for a very dense and soft approach. However, it still included the crunch of a Belgian waffle. The blueberry compote that was featured alongside them was lovely.

The tranquil Maman is a place to slow down and appreciate things with good food and good company. This quaint and vibrant cafe is just the right destination for catching up with friends or family while admiring the atmosphere and enjoying a delightful meal or snack.
