In the club’s fifteenth year, the Haverford Robotics Club, FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) Team 484: Roboforce, attended two District Events in the Mid-Atlantic Robotics (MAR) Region. At the Springside Chestnut Hill District Event, the team made it to semi-finals; at the Lenape-Seneca District Event, Team 484 became the fifth alliance captain in elimination rounds, making it to semi-finals alongside a robotics team with whom Roboforce ended up forming a bond in competition, Team 1089, Team Mercury.
Haverford’s team qualified for the MAR Regional Championship in 45th place out of the 110 teams in MAR. At the championship, they found themselves yet again partnered with Team 1089 for elimination rounds, where they chose Roboforce and team 193 (MORT Beta) to compete with them. Team 484 performed exceptionally well, making it to the final round, and finishing as finalists, which brought our team to be among the top ten teams in MAR.
Because of the  stellar performance, the team was selected as one of the elite to attend the FRC World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, underthe Archimedes Division field, and attended the event for the first time in team history. The students performed to the best of their ability, competing in a qualifying match again with Team 1089, and truly represented Haverford as a Roboforce to be reckoned with.
In our off-season, we attended an event called Monty Madness in Skillman, NJ, where Roboforce went undefeated in the qualifying matches, and again chose Team 1089 to join Haverford’s team  in the elimination matches, along with Teams 708 (Hardwired Fusion of Hatboro-Horsham) and 4575 (The Tin Mints of Upper Darby). During elimination rounds, Haverford went undefeated in the quarter finals, undefeated in semi- finals, and decisively won the first finals match by over 100 points, only to lose the final two matches due to alliance robot malfunction during a match.
This year has been the best, most successful year in the fifteen year history of the team, with hope for much continued success in the future.
