After defeating Wissahickon High School 47-37 last week, the Haverford Boys Basketball team found themselves in the State playoffs for the first time since 1970. The Fords started off the journey to state playoffs with a thriller against Lower Merion back in December. After beating Lower Merion for the first time in many years, the Fords battled through every game to be where they are now.
There is no lack of offensive firepower on the team with all the shooters. However, senior Ben Parker comments on the secret to the Fords’ success. “We knew we could score, but the key to our accomplishment is our defense. Players like Ryan Brown and Jack Donaghy were shutdown defenders who have played amazing defense throughout the season.”
The Fords’ next game will be on Saturday, March 8th, against York High School, 6:30 p.m. at Dallastown High School. Come out and support the boys on their path to the State Championship! Go Fords!
