Seniors Get Spooky with Halloween Carnival

Last Thursday October 26th from 5 – 7:30 pm, was Haverford High School’s Halloween Carnival. All children in costumes were invited to this Senior class fundraiser and community event. The event had festive music, games, crafts, and of course, lots of candy.

Senior Micky Baratka, who was working at the carnival, says the best costume she had seen all day was a little boy dressed as a vending machine. The mother of this concession-filled kid, Michelle Roache, made this Halloween costume herself.

Definitely the most popular game with the kids at the Halloween carnival was the skeleton themed limbo. One “Dorothy” and her brother agreed, adding that they loved the entire Halloween carnival. One family dressed as a flock of penguins also loved the skeleton limbo, and getting to paint pumpkins.

However, not everyone in attendance was here for the activities. “I’m just here for the candy!” says Max, a young attendee. He later admitted his other favorite part of the carnival was the moon bounce.

The Halloween carnival is also a benefit for those too old to attend, as it is a senior class fundraiser. The money raised form this event will go towards events for the 2018 class throughout the year, such as the Blast.

This year’s Halloween carnival was definitely a success, with everyone, whether it was child, parent, or student organizer, having lots of fun and connecting with the Haverford community. Thank you to everyone who came out; hopefully we’ll get to see some of the young attendees again in a few years when they become students at Haverford High!
